Evening Marsh

I love the end of the day, especially during these long summer days. There's a peaceful solitude that falls over the land, a kind of hush that you can almost hear. This was painted last night at Hammonasset State Park. I began painting at about 6:30 and finished at 7:50. I had to work really quickly to get that glow that covers everything as the sun is setting. There's a tiny sailboat off in the distance that's more noticable in real life, and I've got a little glare in the cedar tree which I couldn't get rid of in photoshop, sorry about that. The photo's not doing justice to the original, this one's sweet!!!
