Yesterday's piece was done late and today's early at about 8:30 am. The sun is filtering through the trees at that time and backlighting the peonies, a very nice effect. The peonies are doing remarkably well considering the beating all the rain gave them. I cut a big bouquet of them to bring inside. That lightened the load on the stems and left room for the secondary buds to open . While the big show is over I think I'll still be enjoying peonies in the garden for at least another week or so.
