Flower-a-Day: Double Rugosa Roses

Double Rugosa Roses,6x8,oil/linen
These are the same type of rose as the beach roses I've been painting, however this variety is "double" meaning that it has been bred to have many more petals than it's cousin. It's still an amazingly hardy, pest and disease free shrub, for all its delicate beauty. It also retains all its delicious "tea" fragrance. You couldn't ask for a more desirable rose, I just love these!!
