The Falls River Just Before Winter, 18x24, oil$1200
Two new paintings to share today. The first I did as a demonstration at the Tracy Art Center a few weeks ago. I used an 8x10 plein air as a reference for this larger studio piece. You can see the plein air in a post below, it's called Shorebird Sanctuatry. The second piece I did on the grounds of a new gallery I'm represented by, Gallery at 85 Main Street which is in Centerbrook, CT. The gallery itself is a charming 200 year old barn that's been renovated and overlooks the Mill Pond section of the Falls River. The light at this particular location is really spectacular and it was a joy to paint there.
