Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week is the Summer Solstice Paint Out at the Lyme Art Association. I was able to paint yesterday, at the Florence Griswold Museum which is next door to the art association building. Florence Griswold turned her home into a boarding house which became the center of the first American Impressionist artist colony. This beautiful garden is behind the house, which is currently undergoing a year's worth of renovations. It will re-open on July 1st and there will be another paint out there that day. It was a really beautiful day yesterday with a soft haze creating a bright but silvery light, which you can see in the sky. It's always a joy to paint in a garden!
