Christmas Eve on the Marsh
9x12/oil/linen panel
Well, here we are with Christmas already come and gone!! Christmas Eve was unusually balmy with temperatures nearing 50 degrees. An absolutely perfect day for winter painting. Lots of sun and warm temperatures brought the salt marsh to life, lots of birds, and little critters scurrying about and of course some beautiful blue herons made their appearance. The air was moist, the temps warm and that brought a softness to the air and light which accentuated the subtle colors in the marsh grass and brambles that edge the marsh. The cedar trees seemed very green and fragrant. A joyous feeling on a sacred day.
