Rose Hips
6x8
acrylic on wood

The fragrant flowers of the rugosa (or beach) rose are all but gone. Now the seed chambers known as "rose hips" decorate the shrub. Rose hips make wonderful tea and jelly, and they are very high in vitamin C. These tasty fruits are also a favorite among many birds and by spring my bushes will have been picked clean by my feathered friends.
